Meet the organiser of the night market, Danien van Niekerk.
She has been an entrepreneur for the best part of 10 years with experience in events co-ordinating, photography, social media management and tourism.
Danien strives to keep the standard of the market high and to bring a flair of entertainment to Swakopmund on the evenings of the market. Building a supportive community platform and network for the town is also very important to her. Now she aims to achieve the same with the market's online presence by incorporating a little bit of everything into these following pages.
In these strange times where nothing seems to be the same anymore, SNM would like to take this opportunity to bring a bit of our warm atmosphere and happy vibes back into the lives of those who support the market and love to share the experience with us on a monthly basis.
As it remains unclear until when the lock-down and restrictions will continue, we have decided to keep the bonfire going, metaphorically speaking, and bring the market into the virtual reality until the outside world comes into balance again.

We aim to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone who wishes to attend the night market, while ensuring plenty of variety with quality stalls as well as exciting and unique entertainment at each market.
As this is an event primarily for locals, it is our aim to bring excitement into our foggy little coastal town with our monthly night markets while simultaneously bringing the community a bit closer, giving everyone who attends an opportunity to connect and network. We hope that this market will become a popular to do, marked off on every one's calendar months in advance, whether it is to book a stall or to attend and watch the shows, enjoy the tasty food, shop, relax, catch up with family or tire the kids out before bed time.
